6. Paid Events and Ticket Marketplace

Marketplace Facilitator Model

RoaringShifts operates as a marketplace facilitator for paid events. We provide the platform and payment processing but are NOT the event organizer or responsible party for any events.

Platform Role

  • RoaringShifts provides technology platform for ticket sales and payment processing
  • We facilitate connections between event organizers and attendees
  • We collect platform fees and distribute payments to organizers
  • We are NOT responsible for event planning, execution, safety, or outcomes

Ticket Sales Terms

  • All ticket sales are final and non-refundable unless otherwise specified by the organizer
  • Event location and specific timing details are revealed only after payment confirmation
  • Ticket prices are set solely by event organizers
  • Platform fees are clearly disclosed at time of purchase
  • Payment processing is handled through secure third-party providers

Marketplace Fees

  • RoaringShifts charges a platform fee on paid event ticket sales
  • Current fee structure is disclosed during organizer onboarding
  • Fees are automatically deducted from gross ticket sales
  • HST/GST applies to platform fees as required by Canadian tax law

7. Event Organizer Responsibilities

Full Legal Responsibility

Event organizers assume complete legal, financial, and operational responsibility for their events. RoaringShifts is not liable for any aspect of event planning or execution.

Legal and Regulatory Compliance

  • Organizers must obtain all required permits, licenses, and authorizations
  • Compliance with municipal, provincial, and federal laws is mandatory
  • Venue agreements and insurance requirements are organizer's responsibility
  • Safety protocols and emergency planning must be implemented
  • Accessibility requirements must be met as required by law

Financial and Tax Obligations

  • Organizers are responsible for all tax obligations on event revenue
  • HST/GST registration and collection required if annual revenue exceeds $30,000 CAD
  • Income tax reporting on all event proceeds is organizer's responsibility
  • Business licensing may be required depending on event type and revenue
  • Accurate financial records must be maintained for tax purposes

Liability and Insurance

  • Organizers assume full liability for all event-related incidents
  • General liability insurance is strongly recommended
  • Property damage, personal injury, and theft are organizer's responsibility

  • Business verification documentation may be required
  • Valid payment information must be provided for fee collection
  • Compliance with platform community guidelines is mandatory

8. Attendee Terms for Paid Events

Ticket Purchase and Attendance

  • Ticket purchases constitute acceptance of event-specific terms set by organizers
  • Attendees acknowledge that RoaringShifts is not the event organizer
  • Event details (location, specific timing) are provided only after payment
  • Tickets are personal and may not be transferable without organizer permission

Refund and Cancellation Policy

  • All ticket sales are final and non-refundable by default
  • Individual organizers may offer refunds at their sole discretion
  • Event cancellations or changes are handled directly between organizers and attendees
  • RoaringShifts is not responsible for refunds, cancellations, or event changes
  • Platform fees are non-refundable regardless of event outcome

Assumption of Risk

Important Disclaimer

By purchasing tickets, attendees acknowledge and assume all risks associated with event attendance, including but not limited to personal injury, property damage, theft, and other incidents.

  • Attendees participate in events at their own risk
  • Automotive events may involve inherent safety risks
  • Organizers are solely responsible for event safety and security
  • RoaringShifts disclaims all liability for event-related incidents

9. Cruise, Lobbies, and Group Drives

You Are Driving, Not Following an Instruction

Cruise lets you create driving routes, join lobbies, and see other members of a lobby on a live map. A route shared by a lobby leader is a suggestion, not a direction. You are at all times solely responsible for how you drive.

  • Obey all traffic laws, speed limits, and road signs, without exception
  • Never interact with the app while your vehicle is in motion
  • Do not attempt to keep pace with, catch up to, or follow another vehicle
  • Leave the route or the lobby at any time, for any reason
  • You must hold a valid licence and insurance for the vehicle you are driving

Racing and Unlawful Driving Are Prohibited

RoaringShifts is for lawful driving on public roads. Using Cruise, lobbies, or any part of the platform to organise, promote, coordinate, or record street racing, speed contests, stunt driving, or any other unlawful operation of a vehicle is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate termination.

Lobby Leaders

A lobby leader chooses a route and may appoint co-leaders. Leaders do not supervise, employ, or assume responsibility for other drivers, and no driver acquires any duty to another by joining a lobby. Each driver participates at their own risk and on their own judgement.

Location Sharing

Your location is shared only while you have a lobby map open on your device, and only with other members of that lobby. Closing the app, leaving the lobby, turning on invisible mode, or entering a private area you have set all stop the sharing. Private areas are stored on your device and are never transmitted to RoaringShifts. We do not keep a history of where you have driven; a position is replaced by the next one and discarded when you disconnect.

Anyone can join an open lobby. Consider that when choosing between open, password-protected, and invite-only lobbies, and when deciding whether to display your vehicle.

No Warranty on Routes or Maps

Routes are created by members and are not inspected, verified, or endorsed by RoaringShifts. Road conditions, closures, surfaces, and legality of access can change without notice, and mapping data may be inaccurate or out of date. Live positions may be delayed or missing. Never rely on the platform for navigation or safety decisions.

Assumption of Risk

Driving carries inherent risk. By using Cruise you accept that risk and agree that RoaringShifts is not liable for any collision, injury, death, property damage, citation, or other loss arising from a drive, a route, a lobby, or the conduct of any other member. Nothing in this section limits any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

10. Intellectual Property

Platform Content

RoaringShifts owns all rights to the platform design, features, trademarks, and proprietary content. Users may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without permission.

User Content

  • You retain ownership of content you post but grant us license to use it on the platform
  • You are responsible for ensuring you have rights to all content you share
  • Content must not infringe on third-party intellectual property rights
  • We may remove content that violates intellectual property laws

DMCA Compliance

We respond to valid copyright infringement notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. Report copyright violations to our designated DMCA agent.

Automated Access and Copying of Listings

Search engines and similar services may crawl and index public pages as our robots.txt allows. Beyond that, you may not:

  • Use bots, scrapers, scripts or other automated means to collect meets, events, listings, profiles or other data from RoaringShifts in bulk
  • Copy, republish or import our listings or data into another platform, app, website or database, or use them to build a competing service
  • Get around page limits, rate limits or other measures that control access to the platform

We may rate-limit or block any client that collects data this way, and we may take further action to protect the platform and its members.
